National Express are recruiting an experienced Engineer to join the team at our Start Hill location. The successful candidate will provide engineering support for our fleet of Network  vehicles based at our Depot in Start Hill. This role is support for running defects, preventative checks, partial inspections and Audit form action rectification.

Start Hill working hours 1400-2300 Mon - Fri . On call rota 1 in 3 weekends

Salary: £52,500

What you'll do:

  • Assess and rectify reported defects in a timely and effective manner
  • Diagnose faults using specialist equipment relevant to vehicles in your depot
  • Carry out partial vehicle inspections and checks to minimize vehicle lost mileage
  • Repair and maintain vehicles to a standard exceeding the DVSA minimum
  • Document all work carried out as per mandatory requirements
  • Demonstrate flexibility in line with operational requirements
  • Work safely and adhere to all health and safety policies and processes
  • Willingness to redeploy to other sites on temporary basis (Sickness cover etc)
  • Monitor and rectify any actions arising from National Express Audits

 

What you'll need:

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent. (Experience can be considered following competence assessment)
  • PCV or HGV knowledge / Experience is essential
  • Current UK Driving License
  • PCV License
  • Apprentice trained preferable
